CHILE (FOX) -- A year ago today all eyes were on Chile and the 33 miners who were pulled out of a mine one-by-one.

It took more than two months of work to get to the men who were trapped underground, and a 23-hour operation to bring each miner up to the surface.

The 33 miners became instant celebrities, but today few of the miners have profited from their ordeal. Many are still living in poverty.
