DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (FOX44) — Two brothers have been arrested for manufacturing synthetic marijuana in Denham Springs.
According to Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard, 25-year-old Gerald Fisher and 23-year-old John Fisher were arrested on February 20, after an investigation led Narcotics Officers to their home.
Sheriff Jason Ard said that both Gerald and John Fisher “admitted to the manufacturing of Synthetic Marijuana,” adding, “This is one of the reasons I beefed up the Narcotics Division, to stop this type of activity from spreading.”
When Narcotics Detectives searched the Fisher’s home in the 3200 block of Nikki Drive, they found several items used to operate a synthetic marijuana laboratory, including a “leafy substance used as a substitute for the marijuana.”
Detectives also found approximately two ounces of processed synthetic marijuana, approximately one ounce of high-grade Marijuana, a small amount of methamphetamine, five morphine pills, weighing scales, and about fifteen firearms; one which was reported stolen during a 2012 burglary in Livingston Parish.
Gerald Fisher, who was already a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing any firearms, received two felony charges of Illegal Carrying of Weapons and Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Fisher was also charged with two counts of Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I Narcotics, Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II Narcotics, Creation/Operation of a Clandestine Laboratory for the Unlawful Manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance, Unlawful to Intentionally Possess Schedule II Narcotic unless prescribed, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Gerald Fisher remains in the Livingston Parish Detention Center on a $360,500.00 bond.
John Fisher was charged with Creation/Operation of a Clandestine Laboratory for the Unlawful Manufacture of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I Narcotics, Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. John Fisher remains in the Livingston Parish Detention Center on a $176,000.00 bond.
Sheriff Ard said Johnathan Debacco was also at the Fisher home at the time of the search, and was issued a summons for drug paraphernalia.
