Four men arrested for murder of Donaldsonville man, additional arrests possible

Four men have been arrested in connection to the shooting that killed a 19-year-old man in Donaldsonville.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that Jakil Jones, 21; Max Batiste, 22; Trevel Dunn, 20; and Saquan Sullivan, 17, have all been arrested in connection to the incident that happened on Sunday, July 14.

Deputies responded to the Dville Village Apartments in reference to a large fight. When they arrived, they could not find the reported incident. However, shortly thereafter there was a call of shots fired in the area.

Brisecon Jasmine was found a short distance away with a gunshot wound to the back of his head. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died the following evening.

On Tuesday, July 16, detectives identified the four men as suspects and arrested each of them.

Jones is charged with Second-Degree Murder and Illegal Use of a Weapon. Batiste, Dunn, and Sullivan are all charged with Principal to Second-Degree Murder.
