A 39-year-old man was arrested for allegedly housing a runaway teen and enticing her into prostitution.

According to the arrest report, the investigation began on Tuesday, July 16 when officers with the Lafayette Police Department were provided a tip about possible prostitution happened at a home located on Poydras Street. Officers followed up on the tip at roughly 6:30 a.m. and located a 15-year-old girl inside the home.

Michael Green, Jr. gave police permission to come into the home when they questioned him about the complaints. They say they located the female hiding in the bedroom at the back of the home.

The teen told officers she had been living at the home for about a month, ever since she ran away from her parent’s home. She told them Green approached her about selling her body and she agreed.

The teen continued to explain that she would entertain men at least three times a week and would receive payment from them. She claims she would then turn the money over to Green.

Officers conducted a search of Green’s phone. They were able to retrieve photos of the victim that were also found on the escort service website, BackPage.

Green cooperated with officers and denied all of the allegations. He also claims he is not a resident of the home.

Green was arrested and charged with Promoting Prostitution, Enticing Persons into Prostitution, and Contributing to the Delinquency of Juveniles. He was booked into the Lafayette Parish Prison.
