PORT ALLEN, LA (FOX44) — Early voting for the recall election in the City of Port Allen is over. The last day people could vote early in person was Saturday.
West Baton Rouge Parish Registrar of Voters Stacy Ryan said as of Saturday 1655 people had cast their vote early either in person or by mail in ballot.
It's all part of the recall election that could decide Port Allen Mayor Deedy Slaughter's fate in office.
Ryan says mail in ballots are still being accepted. Click here for the rules on mail in ballots. The election itself is November 16.
